Marchionne: Ferrari deserves the title

Despite the progress made by Scuderia Ferrari on the SF16-H, the team Maranello difficult to threaten Mercedes. The Prancing Horse is particularly bothered by reliability concerns which prevent the pilots from making it happen.

“The Drivers title? I think we deserve it. I believe this because of the efforts made in 2015”, declared Sergio Marchionne, the president of Ferrari, quoted by La Repubblica.

“Unfortunately, mistakes, bad luck or other things prevent us from winning. The Mercedes would have a hard time overtaking us if we placed ourselves in front of them, especially if it was Hag at the forefront”, added the Italian.

If Sebastian Vettel's two accidents were caused by Daniil Kvyat, the boss of Maranello does not express any resentment towards the one who was demoted at Toro Rosso for the benefit of Max Verstappen.

“I don’t want to comment on decisions made with any of our opponents. It was an unfortunate accident and I think Kvyat apologized to Seb. For me, the problem is solved”, underlined Sergio Marchionne.

The Italian team is only 19 points ahead of Red Bull Racing after four Grands Prix while the star manufacturer already seems out of reach.
