The future of Felipe Massa will be done outside the Formula 1. The pilot Williams announced on his Twitter page that he would retire at the end of the 2017 season. This time his farewell should be final, one year after making a false start from the British team.
“This year I will take part in my last Grand Prix of Brazil and Abu Dhabi”, explained the 36-year-old Brazilian on Twitter. “I want to deeply thank my family as well as my fans who have given me enormous support. I hope you will continue to support me next year in other competitions”he concludes.

Felipe Massa, currently 11th in the general classification (36 points) notably obtained the place of vice-champion in 2008 behind Lewis Hamilton. He has 11 victories and 16 pole positions to his credit, all acquired within the Team Ferrari. His replacement has not yet been revealed by Williams, although test driver Paul di Resta, returning Robert Kubica, Pascal Wehrlein and Daniil Kvyat are in the running.
