During his deceleration tour in Abu Dhabi, he did not hide his desire to stay with Red Bull for at least 10 years. It is now done with the formalization of the extension of his contract. Spearhead of the team, Max Verstappen is now linked to Red Bull for the next seven seasons since the two entities have confirmed the signing of a new contract running until 2028!

« I love being part of Red Bull so choosing to stay until the 2028 season was an easy decision, said the Dutchman. I love this team and last year was just incredible. The goal since our union in 2016 was to win the championship and we achieved it. Now it's about keeping the number 1 on the car for as long as possible »

And to team principal Christian Horner to add. “ The fact that Max has signed with Red Bull until the end of 2028 is a true statement of intent. Our short-term goal is to keep Max as world champion, but this deal also shows that he is in it for the long term with the team. »

With this extension, Max Verstappen has perhaps signed one of the juiciest contracts in the history of the Formula 1, and even sport in general. Announced by Daily Mail journalist Jonathan McEvoy then confirmed by Telegraaf journalist Erik van Haren, the new lease would offer the Batavian almost 50 million euros per year! If the 2021 world champion ends his contract in 2028, he will have spent 13 seasons in the ranks of Red Bull, unheard of before in Formula 1.

Really difficult to imagine Pierre Gasly one day joining RBR with such a Mad Max lease!
