  • Max Verstappen (Red Bull) triumphed in Monaco by dominating the race from start to finish, despite a downpour in the second part of the Grand Prix.
  • The Dutchman was ahead Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin) at the end of the 78 rounds. The British team perhaps missed a big chance of victory by stopping the Spaniard at the wrong time to make him start again on Medium tires, forcing him to go through the pits a second time in order to switch to the intermediates.
  • Esteban Ocon resisted Carlos Sainz (Ferrari) then to Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) to secure his third career podium after Sakhir 2020 (2nd) and Hungary 2021 (1st). His teammate Pierre Gasly took 6th place.
  • After a soporific first part of the Grand Prix, drops of rain appeared after the 50th lap of the race.
  • Panic set in at the same time as the rain in the Principality. The Ferrari drivers were trapped by being the last to enter the intermediates in the top 10, while Esteban Ocon and the Mercedes stopped at the right moment.
  • Lewis Hamilton and George Russell (Mercedes) took advantage of the situation to move into the top 5, despite a penalty for the latter. Russell thus received an additional five seconds for returning to the track dangerously in the rain, causing a collision with Sergio Pérez (Red Bull) which could have ended badly.
  • Starting last, the Mexican had a difficult race and never had the opportunity to break away from the peloton in the streets of the Principality.
  • Several drivers are surprised by the slippery road, but alone Lance stroll (Aston Martin) and Kevin Magnussen (Haas) failed to reach the finish.
  • Lando Norris et Oscar piastri (McLaren) completed the top 10 by taking the best of a Yuki tsunoda (Alpha Tauri) in difficulty in the last laps.
  • La F1 returns next weekend with the Barcelona Grand Prix.
