McLaren positive ahead of German Grand Prix

The black series did not end at Silverstone for the two drivers McLaren. Three weeks after signing the first clean result for the Woking team in nearly 64 Grands Prix, in Canada, Jenson Button and Sergio Pérez have still not been able to return to the top 10, and the points, in England. Despite everything, the two residents of the British team found reasons for satisfaction before heading into the 9th meeting of the season, in Germany. “Of course the Silverstone result is not where we wanted to be, but there are some reasons to be encouraged after the last weekend”, notes Jenson Button. “Our car is now better balanced and more manageable, so we are hoping for a rain-free day of testing with the aim of pushing the development of our tuning a little further during the two free practice sessions on Friday.”

Forced to retire in the final laps of the British Grand Prix after also being the victim of one of his tires bursting, Sergio Pérez adopted the same optimism as his teammate. “I have already put the disappointment of Silverstone behind me”, announces the Mexican. “In fact, I was more encouraged than anything else: I showed solid pace throughout the weekend, drove a good race and was on course to finish in the points, until my tire failed. let go of me in the last laps “, he recalls. “These kinds of setbacks happen in motorsport, so it will be good to get back in the car a few days after Silverstone to get back into action.”
