Michael looks back on Rosberg's race

Sam, does Nico's fourth place in Hungary meet your expectations?
Yes. Before the race, we knew it would be difficult to stay ahead of the KERS-equipped cars at the first corner. Nico therefore behaved perfectly in passing this first curve in front of one of the McLaren. This allowed him to gain ground during the first stint. We were in front of the Red Bull after the first stop but Mark Webber managed to pass Nico who managed to set the pace during the second stint.

Nico had a problem during his first refueling stop. What has happened ? Could he have finished third without that?
We lost a lot of time during Nico's first stop but also during the laps that preceded it. The two problems combined cost us a position in favor of a McLaren but we managed to regain this place after the second stop.

Nico set the third fastest time in the race. What can we deduce from this?
The FW31 was once again competitive throughout the race. We must continue development on the car to maintain this course.

Kazuki [Nakajima] finished just outside the points. What were the key moments of his race?
Kazuki had a very good first lap but then lost a place to Jenson Button at the start of the second lap. Unfortunately, the Brawns were heavier and slower during the first stint. Kazuki's race was therefore compromised. It also allowed other drivers behind him who had a longer first stint to close the gap.

Will the total closure of factories for two weeks affect your preparation for the European Grand Prix?

We will work hard this week to prepare the cars for Valencia and then the two weeks of closure will begin. But it will not affect our preparation for the next race.

Do you expect to have a competitive FW31 in Valencia?
Yes. Our performances were reasonable in Valencia last year because it is a city circuit. With the improvements we have made this year, we hope to be competitive again. However, it remains an ideal circuit for cars equipped with KERS.
