Can we imagine you on a cloud?

Coming here [to Bahrain], we didn't know where we would be, because the tests only provide relative answers. We decided not to focus on what others were doing, but to keep the focus on ourselves. It was important not to make mistakes. We tried to stick to our plan during the Grand Prix. Our competitors stopped very early, we knew we would have a tire advantage. We wanted to put on a show for you ladies and gentlemen by overtaking on the track and not in the pits. I'm kidding. More seriously, we did everything we had to do.

A word on the incident between your drivers at turn 4?

These are things that can happen in a first round. Lance was fighting with George on the outside. According to the data, it seems that this did not cause any damage to either of them.

During the winter tests, you said all the good things you thought of Fernando Alonso. Did it impress you even more?

Fernando? It’s just wow! A double wow, even. His speed, his ability to push, to know everything that is constantly happening around him... he is incredible.

Did you expect an entry podium?

No. Despite our promising winter tests, we kept our feet on the ground. We knew that we wouldn't be bad and that our race pace would be good, but we also knew that things could go wrong. The results also depend on the circumstances: let us not forget the abandonment of Charles Leclerc who helped us.
