Monaco: Perez must turn the page

Sergio Perez had violently left the track at the exit of the Tunnel during qualifying for the Monaco Grand Prix, forcing emergency services to intervene to free the Mexican from the wall of tires in which the C30 had become embedded. The Sauber driver was marked by his accident since he had to give up his place to Pedro de la Rosa in Canada. A year later, the resident of the Swiss team returns to the famous circuit to confront his past and hopes to turn the page by distinguishing himself on the Monaco track.

“This Grand Prix is the most special for me”, recognizes Sergio Perez. “I've been waiting for the Monaco Grand Prix my whole life and obviously, after what happened last year, I'm even more looking forward to it. I am convinced that the driver can make the difference more than on any other track. We are on a good pace and I plan to prove it on the Rock. I will of course think of the accident I had in Q3 last year. For me, this is a turning point in my career. There was a before and after the accident. I learned a lot from this episode and I think it made me stronger. I really want to prove what I'm worth in Monte-Carlo. »
