Pérez plans to fight for the title in 2013

Sergio Pérez was one of the surprise driver transfers for next season. The Mexican, who only has two seasons of experience in the discipline within the Sauber team F1 Team, will replace Lewis Hamilton leaving for Mercedes. If the Hispanic driver had highlighted himself by winning three podiums this season, he suffered from a disappointing end to the season since he has not scored points since the Japanese Grand Prix which corresponds to the announcement of McLaren. Doubts arose around “Checo’s” performance and his ability to withstand pressure.

Despite these questions surrounding the replacement for the 2008 world champion, the latter is confident about his potential and the performance of the next MP4-28. “I think that to meet the expectations of results, my objective is to win the titles with them and win the Championship next year”, commented the Mexican, reported by ESPN F1. “It requires a lot of work during the season and it is therefore important to start my preparations with them very well in order to achieve my goals. They have had many reliability issues this year and could have challenged for the title if they could resolve them. Ambitions must be high, that's how we must think... You are always watched when you ride in the best team. We are the heroes when we do good things and we become the worst when we do bad things. I'm already used to it because I experienced the same thing with Sauber. I was a superstar after a podium and I became a bad driver who made mistakes all the time afterwards. »
