Pérez impressed by McLaren's efforts

Jenson Button and Sergio Pérez are tied in the Drivers' Championship with two points scored by both drivers. The 2009 world champion had the opportunity to reassure Woking battling for a top five finish at the Malaysian Grand Prix before being forced to retire due to a loose nut on his wheel. The Mexican was able to save the furniture by securing a ninth place, allowing his team to continue its impressive series of races finished in the points. Checo does not seem to be under pressure at the moment, with his team focused on finding performance on the MP4-28 lacking speed. The Mexican is nevertheless impressed by the work carried out in Woking.

“This break was important so that we could make modifications to make the car more consistent”, comments the former Sauber resident F1 team. “I was not only impressed by the speed of reaction of the team but also by the positive effects brought by these changes. The team made an incredible effort and we have a lot of positives going into the third event on the calendar. We know we were behind in Australia and Malaysia, but Jenson and I were still able to get into the points. We may not have arrived at the desired positions, but these results allow the team to maintain their record of 60 consecutive races in the points, that's quite impressive, and it's a great record to keep. I'm looking forward like everyone in the team to going to China, it's a great circuit with a mix of everything, and I think it will be a good test for the car."
