Pierre Gasly: “Three problems in three days”

Pierre Gasly paid the price of the proverb never two without three. On Sunday, the French pilot ofAlpha Tauri was the first to abandon the Hungarian Grand Prix after eighteen laps.

The cause is the gearbox of his Alpha Tauri. “We had problems from the start. We tried to find solutions in the first lap but it didn't work and we had to give up, explained the Frenchman, disappointed, at the microphone of Canal +.

That's three technical problems in three days and on a circuit like that where we knew we had something to do, it's a bit annoying. »

Pierre Gasly was already frustrated on Friday, since he was unable to set a time during free practice 1, due to an engine problem. The next day, he posted an excellent lap in Q2 during qualifying, before his car suffered further technical problems. Qualified for Q3, he was unable to take part.

As of yesterday evening, the engine manufacturer Honda had decided to change several elements on its Power Unit, including the engine, without causing a penalty on the grid. It was ultimately the gearbox that sounded the death knell for the Frenchman. Pierre Gasly continues a second frustrating weekend. Starting seventh during the Styrian Grand Prix, he finished fifteenth. Watch out for the third in a row.
