Charles Leclerc will not have to wait until 2019 to slip behind the wheel of a Ferrari. The Monegasque is carrying out private tests this Thursday and Friday aboard the SF71H identical to that conducted by Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Räikkönen in this 2018 season on the Paul-Ricard route (Var).

These tests are organized by the Italian manufacturer Pirelli and are carried out with the aim of evaluating the tires for the 2019 season. Formula 1. Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) is also present in the Var on Thursday.
This is not the first time that Charles Leclerc has worn the red jumpsuit. In the summer of 2017, the Ferrari Drivers' Academy driver was invited by the Scuderia to go to the Hungaroring for tests reserved for young drivers. The man who was not yet a Formula 2 champion at the time had set the best time on the first day.
Charles Leclerc if he got his contract with Ferrari for next year replacing Kimi Räikkönen, is part ofa long-term policy decided by Team Principal Maurizio Arrivabene.
