The manufacturer of the Formula 1, Pirelli, has revealed the different possible strategies for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. According to the Italian supplier, the teams must opt for a single-stop strategy on the Jeddah circuit, a more efficient choice. On a less abrasive track, drivers should choose the hardest tires offered this weekend on the Corniche circuit.

Depending on the degradation of the tires, three options are available to the teams on the Saudi track: a Medium – Hard strategy, a Soft – Hard strategy or a Medium – Hard strategy. The first of these three possibilities should be the fastest, according to Pirelli. The Italian manufacturer therefore believes that starting with medium rubbers is the most logical choice. The first stop should take place around the 18th lap (13th lap if starting on soft tires).

Pirelli also offers an alternative strategy with two stops, which is supposed to be slower but which could be used depending on the racing facts. Still after a start in Softs, the drivers could switch to Mediums then finish the race in Softs. In this case, the first stop would come around the 10th lap.

Regarding the remaining sets of tires, Alpine retained two new sets of hard rubber. On the contrary, Aston Martin no longer has new hard tires. The pilots Red Bull, Mercedes, Alfa Romeo, Williams et Nyck de Vries still have two sets of unused medium erasers available. Max Verstappen, eliminated prematurely in Q2 on Saturday, still has two sets of new soft tires.

As a reminder, Pirelli brought to Saudi Arabia the tires from the middle of its range: the C2 (hard), the C3 (medium) and the C4 (soft).
