Red Bull 'built for 2020'

For several races, the n°1 opponent of Mercedes no longer called Ferrari but good Red Bull Racing. In parallel with the progress of the V6 turbo / hybrid Honda, the RB15s now display a level of performance and reliability capable of disrupting the W10s from time to time. Lewis Hamilton et Valtteri Bottas.

But the vision of the Milton Keynes structure goes further than just the end of the upcoming season. “Our goal for the rest of the year is to close the gap at races like Hungary, comments Christian Horner, Head of Red Bull Racing.

We hope that some races will take place in the same way, and as we will have better performance with the car, and as Honda moves forward, it will be a building year towards 2020. »

The British boss recalls that the Silver Arrows still remain inaccessible for the duration of a season, as already admitted Max Verstappen just after Hungary.

“Hopefully with the upcoming tracks, there will be some exciting races to come and if the grid is moving, and Max can also race against Lewis and the Ferraris, it's promising for the future, continues Horner. Lewis now has a lead of over 70 points, which is close to a three-race advantage.

So basically Lewis wouldn't have to compete in all three races. They would have to screw up in gigantic proportions to not win this championship. »
