Red Bull hopes to reach the podium in 2016

Untouchable at the end of the era of naturally aspirated V8s, Red Bull Racing has not been able to repeat its exploits since the introduction of the V6 turbo/hybrid Power Units. The difficulties encountered by Renault during the 2014 and 2015 seasons did not allow Christian Horner's men to challenge the domination of Mercedes, despite the three victories of Daniel Ricciardo in 2014.

However, hope remains within the red bull team for 2016. Equipped with a Renault engine block rebadged in the name of TAG Heuer, the team aims to reach the podium this year, thanks to the expected progress of the Losange with its Power Unit, especially for the second part of the championship.

“For the first half of the season, I see Mercedes doing a series of doubles as long as they don't make any mistakes, then I place Ferrari and a close fight between Williams, Force India, Toro Rosso and Red Bull Racing behind, admits Helmut Marko, Red Bull motorsport consultant.

From mid-season, our situation in terms of the Power Unit should improve, which makes me believe that third position should be playable."
