It became an open secret, as we explained to you in January 2022, it's now official: Red Bull et Alpha Tauri will still use Honda-sourced engines in Formula between 2023 and the end of the 2025 season.

The two teams, through the Red Bull Powertrains (RBPT) entity, have extended the partnership with Honda Racing Corporation (HRC, the sporting entity of the Japanese manufacturer). The agreement does not concern the development of power units, because this area is now frozen by the FIA regulations.

“We thank Honda for their positive response to the idea of working together, explains Doctor Helmut Marko. We are delighted to continue our partnership in F1 until the end of 2025 with the Power Unit supplied by Honda. We have had a successful relationship so far, winning the Drivers' Championship in 2021 and currently leading the Drivers' and Teams' standings, with the aim of winning both titles in 2022."

« We have agreed to continue to support Red Bull Power Trains in Formula 1 through HRC, following Red Bull's request to extend our current agreement, which HRC can respect within its existing resources, says Koji Watanabe, President of the HRC. Once again, we aim to use our involvement in the motorsport summit for the development of technologies and our workforce. »
