Ricciardo benefits from Hamilton's retirement at Sepang

Daniel Ricciardo signs his first success of the season, the fourth of his career in F1, winning the Malaysian Grand Prix for the first time, beating his teammate Max Verstappen. Red Bull wins his first double since 2013 after taking advantage of the abandonment of Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) who broke his engine on the 41st lap while the three-time world champion was solid leader of the event.

Nico Rosberg (Mercedes) performed very well by completing the podium. However, the race started badly for the German who fell to the bottom of the ranking after being sent into a spin at the first corner following contact with Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari), forced to retire due to broken suspension. The Championship leader was able to maintain his third place against Kimi Räikkönen (Ferrari) despite a ten-second penalty imposed for contact with the Finn.

Valtteri Bottas (Williams) completes the top five after performing a one-stop strategy. Force India places its two cars in the points with Sergio Pérez sixth and Nico Hulkenberg eighth. same for me McLaren with Fernando Alonso 7th and Jenson Button 9th.

Jolyon Palmer (Renault) gets his first point by completing the top ten in front Carlos Sainz Jr. (Toro Rosso). Esteban Ocon (Manor) finished last following his teammate Pascal Wehrlein. Romain Grosjean (Haas) retired following an exit from the track following a broken brake disc while the French driver was fighting for points.
