Romain Grosjean: A return to Renault would be a great story

The career of Romain Grosjean remains largely marked by its transition to enstone. Pilot of Renault F1 Team in 2009 for seven races, the French driver continued his career in F1 from 2012 with Lotus F1 Team, built on the ashes of the Losange team.

Off to try the adventure Haas in 2016, Romain Grosjean extended with the American team for 2020, offering the opportunity to the team led by Günther Steiner to keep the same driver duo with Kevin Magnussen for the fourth consecutive year.

And if the 2020 season will not begin until the beginning of July in Austria, the prospects for 2021 are already at the heart of the debates, with Romain Grosjean arriving in particular at the end of his contract at the end of the season.

“Carlos is going to Ferrari, then a good place became available at McLaren which constituted a great opportunity for Ricciardo, indicates the Frenchman to ESPN. And there is still a place at Renault that could be attractive for the future.

[A return] would be a great story. I spent 10 years at Enstone and they financed most of my career, and I got the last podium at Enstone […] I think it would be good to go back, but it would also be good to stay at Haas or try another team.

We haven't even had a race, but we're already talking about next year, which is a bit strange. But we are also entering, from mid-June to mid-July, what is a strange period so I don't know. Let's go back to the race first, and see how the car performs. »

On the Haas side, Günther Steiner, Team Principal of the Kannapolis (North Carolina) team, had clarified that nothing had been decided regarding the driver duo for 2021.
