Ron Dennis takes control of the McLaren Group

Ron Dennis returns to the forefront by taking over the management of McLaren Group after only two years of absence. If the president of the British manufacturer had kept one foot in the discipline, taking over the position now occupied by Team Principal Martin Whitmarsh puts him directly in the heat of the action. This reaction is certainly not trivial after Woking failed to achieve a single podium last year and which leaves doubt over Whitmarsh's future within the team.

In addition, Ron Dennis confirms that his return to the management of the McLaren Group is the start of a series of changes. “My fellow shareholders have asked me to write a new chapter in McLaren’s history, starting with improving our performance on and off the track. I will undertake a careful and objective study of our business with the intention of optimizing all aspects of our existing operations. I will find new areas where we can exploit our technologies and where we can invest in them most effectively. In February, I will launch a new strategy group and put in place the operational structure that will best achieve this. I am excited to return as director and work with my many colleagues and shareholders to achieve our goals. »
