Ross Brawn plans to stay at Mercedes

This is a subject that has been the subject of many discussions in recent months, and in particular the arrival of Toto Wolf at the head of Mercedes Motorsports and Paddy Lowe, the former technical director of McLaren. Will Ross Brawn, the current Team Principal of the German team, be able to keep his position next year? On the eve of new technical regulations, with the introduction of the 6l V1.6 turbo hybrid engine in 2014, the British manager assures that he wants to stay. “We are in good shape for next year, I would not like to miss the party”, he announced to the BBC. “There is a big change in regulations next year, which affects the whole car, and not just the aerodynamics as we have seen in the past. If you don't start a year early, you're going to be in trouble.", he warns.

These statements come as several rumors send Ross Brawn to Honda to prepare for their return to Formula 1 in 2015 to power McLaren. Presented as the future successor to Brawn, Paddy Lowe, who has been working for the Brackley team for a little over a month now, also wanted to make things clear. According to the defector from Woking, the future of the current main team would be solely in his hands. “Ross (Brawn, Editor’s note) is currently the Team Principal. We don't know for how long, plans haven't been made.", did he declare. “I came to strengthen the team in its current form, what I can do. There is a lot of work and I have already started to increase what we have. What the future holds for me in terms of progression remains to be seen, it is not defined at the moment?

“If Ross at any point wishes to move up or move down then we will have the strength to react and respond to that to maintain strong leadership. At the same time, there is a lot to do and I am comfortable with that?, says Paddy Lowe. For now.
