Steve Nielsen has been confirmed by Williams Racing as the team's sporting director. The Briton held this position this season at Toro Rosso.

Steve Nielsen becomes Williams sporting director

Williams Racing has confirmed the arrival of Steve Nielsen as athletic director. This British engineer had been announced departing from Toro Rosso last week, after joining the stable of Faenza in 2013 to occupy the same position. Nielsen has a rich background in F1 since he has been working there for 27 years, having notably worked at Tyrell, Honda and Arrows as Team Manager before becoming sports director at Benetton-Renault and Caterham.

This is a positive transfer for Steve Nielsen given the performances achieved by Williams Racing in 2014 since the Grove stable took third place of the Manufacturers' Championship. “It’s an exciting moment for the whole team”, confirmed the new recruit. “I will ensure that our on-track operations are carried out at the best level and I will verify that we optimize our sporting performances. »
