The partnership between the Formula 1 and Qatar Airways was announced this Wednesday February 22 during the Motorsport Festival in Doha (Qatar). The airline will become the title sponsor of three events: the Qatar Grand Prix (October 6-8), obviously, but also those of Emilia-Romagna (May 19-21) and Hungary (July 21-23).
As part of the partnership, Qatar Airways will offer fans the opportunity to purchase a limited number of travel packages for select Grands Prix. For these events, including the Qatar GP, spectators will be able to purchase return flights to the destination as well as tickets to the race.
As part of this partnership, the two entities intend to collaborate on sustainability-focused initiatives to reduce carbon emissions.
« As the pinnacle of motorsport, it makes sense for Formula 1 to partner with a global aviation leader like Qatar Airways, comments Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of F1. We are two brands committed to providing the best experience for our fans and customers, and our combined global reach makes it a perfect match. We also share a passion for technology and innovation, especially as we all work together towards a greener future. We are delighted to welcome Qatar Airways as a global airline partner. »
« The best partnerships thrive on mutual values, adds His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker. Qatar Airways and Formula 1 share the same passion for innovation, precision and luxury. As a brand, we believe in the power of sport to unite people, which is why we have been selective in choosing the most exciting sporting events and sponsoring a variety of new and important sporting initiatives. With 23 stages on the 2023 circuit, F1 is a global sport, requiring a global airline partner with extensive global connectivity. Qatar Airways is therefore the ideal companion for one of the most popular motor sports in the world. »
