A Red Bull-Honda partnership does not worry Verstappen

The future of Red Bull raises many questions, the impact of a probable separation of McLaren and Honda having many consequences. If the Red Bull was required in 2019 to have Japanese Power Units criticized since the return of the Japanese engine manufacturer, the Milton Keynes team could see its performance deteriorate without a significant leap forward from the Asian manufacturer.

This prospect, however, does not seem to worry Max Verstappen who is currently only focusing on his team's potential for the 2018 season.

“It’s about 2019. Ultimately, it’s not my decision. I know I will drive a Red Bull Renault next year. We'll see what happens next. I'm not worried about what I'll be doing in two years. For the moment I want to focus on the start of 2018 and wait to see our level of competitiveness”, commented Max Verstappen in the Singapore GP paddock.

McLaren is expected to announce this week the end of its partnership with Honda and its commitment to Renault for 2018, while Toro Rosso would recover the contract with the Japanese firm.
