Already gathered under the banner of their association, Fota, the team owners wrote a memorandum in which they formulated all their proposals for technical and sporting regulations aimed on the one hand at reducing the cost of the F1 for the years 2010/2011 and 2012 while rejecting any principle of two-speed F1. The one benefiting from technical advantages for the teams agreeing to race according to the law of the blocked budget and the one with the current very strict rules for the teams refusing to enter into this financial framework.

« There is no question for me of going backwards on what was decided and voted by the FIA ​​World Council ", declared Mosley following the announcements of possible withdrawal of Renault, Toyota, Ferrari, RedBull/ToroRosso and BMW. Not impressed by this tidal wave? However, behind-the-scenes negotiations are going well because an F1 without these manufacturers, to which it would be necessary to add Mercedes, even if, politically speaking, the German engine manufacturer is playing a low profile given the reprieve given to the team McLaren is suspended for her lying affair at the Australian GP, ​​would look bad. Brawn GP, Williams and Force India, although in favor of limiting the budget, would thus be deprived of engine, gearboxes and even much more in the case of Force India since its technical managers come from McLaren.

This Friday we will perhaps also learn in which camp the irremovable and essential Ecclestone is located. Always an accomplice of Mosley, of course, but above all concerned that F1 be a profitable business! However, without prestigious manufacturers, without television, without sponsors, the king of motorsport would lose a large part of its appeal.
