Verstappen explains his outburst against Ocon

Max Verstappen (Red Bull) will not soon forget the 2018 Brazilian Grand Prix of F1. The Dutchman was bombarded with questions by national television upon his return to the Netherlands on Monday evening, all relating to his clash with Esteban Ocon (Racing Point Force India) while leading the event.

The youngest Grand Prix winner in F1 history said he did not want to push the Frenchman during the post-race weigh-in. "I just wanted to go find him and ask him, 'What happened, how could this happen?' », he defended himself.

But he instantly said, “I was faster than you,” and he said it with such a smile on his face. » It is therefore the reaction of his interlocutor which would have triggered his gesture of irritation.

“I tried to remain as positive as possible towards my mechanics, continues Max Verstappen, but of course this second place is unfair. Then, you find yourself facing someone like him (Esteban Ocon), who doesn't even apologize for what happened and who reacts in exactly the opposite way. »
