Vettel: no podium without rain at Silverstone

Sebastian Vettel was struggling for most of the British GP, but the four-time world champion managed to make the difference when rain fell at Silverstone. The pilot Ferrari reacted immediately by going to the pits as soon as possible to take intermediate tires, which allowed him to gain the advantage over the Williams by Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas.

“It’s not a Christmas present. Santa didn't push me into the pits and tell me which lap I should stop on. It was our decision and few teams made the right choice.", said the winner of the last Malaysian GP. « I wouldn't have been on the podium if it hadn't rained. I knew how to remain patient to take advantage of the good opportunity at the end. »

His teammate Kimi Räikkönen had less success since he anticipated the arrival of the rain too much. The Finn was only able to save an 8th place.
