Vitaly Petrov plagues in the rain

Vitaly Petrov, since he took the wheel of the Renault R30 at Jerez, was never able to set a time. Even if the teams are in Spain to develop their car, and not to seek performance, the Russian driver has never been able to place himself in optimal conditions to be fast. Last week, Petrov was sent to the track on Wednesday and Friday, the two wettest days, while most of the drivers in the field rode on two consecutive days, and were able to benefit from a few hours of testing in dry conditions.

This week, Vitaly Petrov is once again driving on the Jerez circuit when the sky is capricious. An observation which greatly bothered the Russian pilot this Wednesday evening. “ Another rainy day in Jerez ”, regretted Petrov. Even the stealthy drying up of the circuit is not a cause for celebration. “ Conditions were constantly changing, going from wet to dry, which made learning difficult. We have to hope that tomorrow (today) is a better day so that we can do a large number of laps. »

But, this Thursday, the weather is gloomy and the track is wet again. The Russian will have to count on a radical change in climate to hope to drive on a dry track during the day. Because, after this Thursday, it is Robert Kubica who will continue the development of the Renault R30.
