This is what F1 could look like in 2021

The meeting was held secretly in Singapore on Wednesday evening. Liberty Media, owner of the Formula 1, revealed during a seminar dedicated to F1 technique 3D images foreshadowing the look of the single-seaters from 2021. The objective of this redesign is to improve the spectacle on the track with greater ease of aspiration between the cars thanks to simplified aerodynamics.

Ross Brown, the Motor Sports director of Liberty Media, presented a concept using the colors of the Ferrari SF71H, but for the design of the car, the shapes are innovative. The front nose is simplified, refined and widened compared to the various appendages and the unsightly nose present for several seasons. The Halo is still present, but with a more plunging support.

The pontoons are also simplified, and all the fins are gone on this virtual rendering, to give an appearance reminiscent of the early 2000s. In addition to the size of the rims, increased as expected to 18 inches, the rear wing would be supported by a more imposing central pillar than it is on the 2018 cars. The rear wing would possibly be attached to a fairing surrounding the rear of the wheel set.

No official communication has come from Liberty Media or the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), but this concept seems sufficiently accomplished to give a serious indication of the design of F1 in 2021.
