Williams doesn't want outsider status

After experiencing an unproductive period, Williams Racing has raised the bar since 2014, benefiting in particular from the performance of the Power Unit of Mercedes and the skills of Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas.

Claire Williams, the director of Williams Racing, does not appreciate the outsider status often granted to her team. “I don’t like that expression. We have always been considered that. I don't think we can call it an underdog for a team that has won 16 world titles. One of my missions is to make it disappear, to remove this outsider label because I think it can be very demoralizing for the staff. »

The Grove team has finished the last two seasons in third place in the Constructors' Championship although its last victory dates back to the 2012 Spanish Grand Prix with Pastor Maldonado's victory.
