Wolff: “A victory would show that Mercedes is back”

Victory machine since the start of the hybrid era in 2014, Mercedes suffered somewhat this year. Bad part due to the bet of a concept of car unique with the W13, the German team suffered the entry blow by being quickly left behind by Red Bull et Ferrari.

Closer to victory than ever, Mercedes managers know that returning to the top of the podium would allow them to send a completely different type of message to their rivals.

« A victory would demonstrate that our car is back to fight for victories, assures Toto Wolff. First^e position also demonstrates it a little because the others lost ground and we scored more points. The fact is that we are racers. Right now we can see it. We just want to get this win and so there is always a feeling of frustration. We have come so far and here we are, fighting for a victory, our two cars are fighting for the podium and the Ferraris are behind us. We must therefore remain humble about what we have accomplished, while continuing to aim for the stars. » With a large part of the delay made up, there is no doubt that Mercedes will continue to push at the end of the season so as not to end the year without the slightest success for the first time since 2011!
