Zak Brown worries about the situation for some teams

Le F1 Circus is at a standstill until June for the moment, the resumption being imagined in Canada, those responsible for the Grand Prix contested in Montreal giving until the end of April to confirm the continuation of the test on its date of June 12 to 14.

A situation due to the coronavirus pandemic around the world which clearly worries team managers, including Zak Brown. The executive director of McLaren, in an interview for the BBC, believes that decisions must be taken quickly to best safeguard the state of the discipline.

“Could I see, through what's happening right now in the world if we don't tackle this situation very aggressively – two teams disappearing? Yes, says the American.

In fact, I could see four teams disappearing if this isn't handled properly. And then, given the time it takes to bring an F1 team back up to standard, and given the economic and health crisis in which we currently find ourselves, to think that there would be people ready to take over these teams...

I don't think the timing could be worse from that point of view. So I think F1 is in a very fragile state at the moment. »

For Brown, one of the solutions could be to lower the budget ceiling discussed by the governing bodies for 2021, and planned at 150 million dollars (a little less than 139 million euros). The McLaren director would be for a ceiling of 100 million dollars (92,5 million euros).
