Ammermüller Porsche Supercup champion in Mexico, Andlauer in contention for the podium
The penultimate round of the 2019 season Porsche Supercup a permis de déterminer l’heureux champion. Vainqueur sur le circuit des Frères Rodriguez à Mexico (Mexique), Michael Ammermüller (Lechner Racing) s’est assuré du titre, le troisième de sa carrière dans la série monotype allemande.
Indeed, his lead of 22 points over Larry ten Voorde (MRS GT-Racing) can no longer be overturned. “This is my third coronation in a row and it makes me so proud », said the 32-year-old pilot.
Michael Ammermüller, after a timid career in single-seaters (11th in the GP2 Series in 2006, 3rd in the International Formula Master in 2008) brilliantly converted to the different categories of the Porsche Carrera Cup in 2010. Three times third in the Supercup between 2013 and 2015, he scored his ninth victory in the championship in Mexico.
French Julien Andlauer (Lechner Racing), one of the great entertainers of the season, finished just off the podium. The French hopeful, German Porsche Carrera Cup champion a few weeks earlier, is third in the general classification after Race 1.
The podium is completed by the Turk Ayhancan Güven (Martinet by Alméras), the 2019 Porsche Carrera Cup France champion, and the Cypriot Tio Ellinas (Lechner Racing).
