12pm Bathurst – Van Gisbergen places McLaren on pole

With a record reference established in 2'01″286, Shane van gisbergen made a big splash during qualifying for the Bathurst 12 Hours, also counting for the Intercontinental GT Challenge. The Kiwi driver of Tekno Autosports, associated with Alvaro Parente and Jonathan Webb on the McLaren 650S GT3 No. 59, dominated the session, relegating the Jamec Pem Racing / Melbourne Performance Center Audi R8 LMS of René Rast to more than half a second.

The 650S GT3s showed themselves to their advantage on the Mount Panorama track since the McElrea Racing example from Walls? Luff? Campbell? Slade climbed into third position and dominated the GT3 Am category. The second Audi R8 LMS from Jamec Pem Racing / Melbourne Performance from Haase? Mies? Mapelli took fourth position ahead of the Keltic Racing McLaren 650S and the second Tekno Autosports car.
