No less than seven R8 LMS will be present at the Bathurst 12 Hours where Audi can aim for a third victory.

Audi present in force at the Bathurst 12h

Audi Sport has confirmed the crews which will race on new R8 LMS at the Bathurst 12 Hours on February 7. Six teams will enter a total of seven cars in the Australian event in the hope of achieving a third success for the manufacturer on the rings.

“Audi has seen its number of customers increase significantly since 2011”, commented Romolo Liebchen, Audi Sport customer service director, soon to be replaced by Chris Reinke. “Four manufacturers have won the last five editions (Audi, Mercedes, Ferrari and Nissan). Audi was winner in 2011 and 2012 (with Joest Racing and Phoenix Racing) and Team Phoenix Racing will be back this year. »
