Blancpain: Gulf Racing formalizes its duos

Entered last year in ILMC with an Aston-Martin AMV8 Vantage under the Gulf AMR Middle-East banner, the Gulf Racing team will field two McLaren MP4/12C in Blancpain Endurance Series. And it is today that the team which will be led by David Price announced the names of its drivers. Owners Mike Wainwright and Roald Goethe will be supported by Rob Bell and Stuart Hall respectively. Double LMS champion and new official McLaren driver, Bell will team up with the first named. “I would like to say how much Roald and I are looking forward to the 2012 season, Wainwright points out. Roald and I have to match our racing weekends with our professional commitments, and we find that the Blancpain Endurance Series calendar suits us better than that of the World Endurance Championship..

“We have followed the development of the McLaren with interest and we are convinced that it is the ideal car for us, continues Roald Goethe, who will team up with Stuart Hall. It is a guarantee of quality, reliability and ease of piloting, and should allow us to take full advantage. Have a factory driver on the team (Rob Bell. Editor’s note), who was greatly involved in the testing will be a great benefit to us. » But it could be that the team is not satisfied with this program alone. “We still have theAston Martin and it could well be that we run it in a few races, in European Le Mans Series or even in WEC, but it depends on everyone's budgets and personal commitments. We hope to finalize this soon.”
