Domenicali succeeds Winkelmann at Lamborghini

After his years at Maranello, then at the FIA ​​(where he still chairs the Single-seater commission), in November 2014 the Italian became vice-president of “New Business Initiatives” for the brand with the rings. These latest movements in the VW organization chart suggest that we should not expect an imminent arrival in F1 of the German group.

Lamborghini currently has a substantial program in the GT3 category, with the Huracán fielded both in the WeatherTech Sportscar Championship in the United States and in the Blancpain GT Series championships in Europe. The Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo, launched in 2009 under the presidency of Winkelmann.

The latter for his part takes charge of the Quattro GmbH branch (in place of Heinz Hollerweger) whose work on the latest R8 LMS GT3 was quickly crowned with success with a victory at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring 2015 or a victory in GTD at Daytona last January.
