Ferrari on pole at the 24 Hours of Spa

This year, no GT1 at the 24 Hours of Spa. The scratch victory will therefore pit GT2 against GT3.
Last night, Gianmaria Bruni signed, at the wheel of his Ferrari AF Corsica? Team Vitaphone, pole position, thanks to a best lap completed in 2:22:403. The Italian will share his car with the Finn Toni Vilander and the Belgians Eric Van de Poele and Bert Longin.

Impressive during the test day, the official BMW M3 E92 confirmed yesterday. The No. 79, that of Dirk Werner, Dirk Müller and Dirk Adorf, managed to settle on the front row. Belonging to the GT National category, the Bavarians will be serious candidates for final victory. The No. 78 of Pedro Lamy, Jorg Müller and Uwe Alzen will start sixth.

The second row is monopolized by the Audi R8 LMS of the Phoenix team, the fastest cars in the GT3 category. After dominating free practice yesterday morning, the German team seems in very good shape. Aboard the No. 50, the Kumpen-Fässler-Luhr-Rockenfeller quartet qualified third, just ahead of their teammates Margaritis-Hennerici-A. Piccini-Moser. Third overall last year, it is the top step of the podium that will be targeted this weekend by the German team.

On the French side, both Porsche 997 GT3 RSR of the team Imsa Performance Matmut will start from the 7th and 24th positions on the starting grid with that of Pilet-Long-Narac-Lietz ahead of that of Gibon-Bourret-Balandras- Belloc. The Mosler Gravity Romain Grosjean is 17th, eight places behind the Porsche of Romain Dumas in ninth.

Departure tomorrow at 16 p.m., for a double round of the clock which promises to be very competitive. The uncertainty regarding the name of the winner will certainly be reinforced by the still uncertain weather conditions above the Belgian circuit.
