FIA GT – Sébastien Loeb Racing wants to finish in style in Baku

With 117 points on the clock, 23 more than third-placed BMW Sports Trophy Team Brasil, Sébastien Loeb Racing wants to maintain its second place in the FIA GT Series Teams championship. To do this, we will have to be brilliant this weekend in the streets of Baku, Azerbaijan. The Alsatian team, both of which McLaren MP4-12C will be entrusted to the usual duos Sébastien Loeb-Alvaro Parente and Mike Parisy-Andreas Zuber, will approach this final meeting with high morale after having outrageously dominated the penultimate round, in Navarra, winning both races of the meeting not without achieving the double during the main event.

On the Drivers' side, with 63 and 61 points respectively, the Loeb-Parente and Parisy-Zuber pairs can still dream of a final podium. “I am approaching this last stage of the season more motivated than ever, especially as the competition will be numerous and of a very high level, recognizes Pau resident Mike Parisy. It will certainly be a great finale and also playing on a street circuit will make the exercise even more intense. Since last year, the circuit has completely changed. I was able to discover it on a simulator, it is a priori faster and offers a wider range of turns, from the hairpin to the fast curve. It's a track that will suit the McLaren well. For this last event, our ambitions are to conquer 3rd place in the final ranking and win. It will be a difficult goal to achieve against top-class opponents but our Navarra double demonstrates how competitive Sébastien Loeb Racing is. Our goal of victory is legitimate! »

Alvaro Parente, who is cracking down on the other McLaren, would for his part offer the boss a second victory in a row. “The level of competition will be even higher with the commitment of new formidable competitors to this meeting, underlines the Portuguese. It will be a very competitive race and the challenge will be all the more interesting. As with all races that take place in town, you will have to drive without making mistakes because the walls are never very far away... Since last year, the track has been modified a lot. I was able to analyze certain portions on videos but I will only really discover it on site. As far as our objectives are concerned, they remain simple: to be as efficient as possible to aim for victory in each of the two races. Sunday evening, we will see what our position will be in the final ranking. »

Qualifying will take place on Saturday at 16:15 p.m., the start of the qualifying race will be given on Sunday at 9:45 a.m. and that of the championship race at 13 p.m.
