FIA GT1: Ideal weekend for Lamborghini

Pole position, victory in the qualifying race and final victory in the championship race, the All-Inkl.com Munnich Motorsport team had the perfect weekend in Belgium. Marc Basseng and Markus Winkelhock dominated the proceedings in Zolder at the wheel of their Lamborghini Murciélago.

The German duo leaves the Zolder circuit leading the Drivers' championship. “It was an incredible weekend, I didn’t think it was possible, rejoices Marc Basseng. Thanks to the team, the car and everyone who gave their all this weekend. The car?s settings were even better for the championship race than for the qualifying race, and it was just huge. As team manager, I am happy with this victory, but I deplore the problems of the Lamborghini n°37, we needed to have both cars in the points for the manufacturer's championship. »

At the finish, Markus Winkelhock also did not hide his joy and enthusiasm, even if he anticipates a more difficult race during the next round in Portugal on May 8. “It was actually easy, laughs the German. First of all, the first pit stop was good, the car was just great, I was able to attack and get good lap times. I'm so happy, I think we gave our best this weekend. Of course, the next race will be less obvious with more ballast. Also, I have never driven at Portimao, but let's hope we can be strong again. »
