Frank Stippler, WRT's 12th man

We announced to you last week 11 of the 12 drivers who will take the seat of an Audi R8 LMS entered by the W Racing Team during the next 24 Hours of Spa. During the test day which took place yesterday, the Belgian team revealed the identity of its 12th man. This will be the German Frank Stippler, who notably took part last May in the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring at the wheel of a Phoenix Racing Audi R8 LMS.

“It is a team that is still young, but which demonstrates great professionalism and great potential, underlined the ex-Audi driver in DTM. There is still some fine-tuning work on the car, but it is logical and I hope to be able to make my contribution on this point. In any case, I am delighted to be at the start of these 24 Hours. »

An undisguised enthusiast, shared by Vincent Vosse.

“We will have the pleasure of welcoming the very experienced Frank Stippler, declares the team manager. Frank knows the Audi R8 LMS very well since he carried out most of its development with Frank Biela. It will certainly be an asset to have him on our team. »

The crews of the Belgian team's cars will therefore be as follows. The n°72 will welcome Frank Stippler, Frank Biela, Grégory Franchi and Vincent Vosse, the n°73 an equally talented quartet composed of Stéphane Lémeret, Kurt Mollekens, François Verbist and Stéphane Ortelli, finally the n°74 will see its flying Frédéric Bouvy, Jean-Luc Blanchemain, Christian Kelders and David Tuchbant.

Yesterday during the test day, the Audi R8 LMS of the W Racing Team wearing the number 72 set the best time in the GT3 category. A good omen before the 24 hours.
