Goueslard: “I wanted something else”

Patrice Goueslard, three-time LMS GT1 champion, has decided to turn a page in his career. He decided to reorient himself this year in GT3, towards the brand new SRO championship: the “Blancpain Endurance Series”!

This new championship brings together legendary manufacturers such as Porsche, Ferrari, Mercedes, Audi, Ford, McLaren, Lotus, Corvette, Lamborghini, Maserati or even Aston Martin. A poster that says a lot about the quality of the races to come. “I have just completed five consecutive seasons in LMS with three GT1 titles, I wanted something else, explains Patrice Goueslard. I therefore chose this brand new championship which is only reserved for GTs and which exactly meets my expectations. Moreover, the major manufacturers of exceptional cars made no mistake because they are all there! »

The Norman will race a SOFREV-ASP Ferrari F458 Italia with Jérôme Policand and Julien Jousse. “On paper, the Ferrari 458 has a lot of advantages: pretty, compact, agile and with a lot of aerodynamics, He says. For Monza, the objective will be to place itself in the group of contenders for final victory because the competition is tough with no less than 10-15 cars that can win. Jérôme and Julien are fast and reliable. We no longer present Jérôme who, with 13 participations in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, has extensive experience in motorsport. As for Julien, he has just joined Pescarolo Sport and won his first LMS prototype victory. So, if the Ferrari is reliable, the results will be there? »

First round of the season on April 17, on the Italian circuit of Monza.
