GT – Hexis Racing has closed its doors

Hexis Racing is ending its motorsport adventure which began in Nogaro in 2002 and ended last month in Baku. The structure set up by Michel Mateu and managed by Philippe Dumas will remain the first private French team to have won an FIA-labelled world title on the circuit. Despite the contacts established in recent weeks in search of a partnership with a manufacturer or an investor, “the ideal package could not be put together”.

Among the feats achieved, let us mention the FIA GT1 Teams title won in 2011 with Aston Martin and his honorary places as Drivers and Teams vice-champion obtained the following year with McLaren. The French team also finished in second place in 2010, making it the most victorious over all three seasons. She also took second place in the Coupe de France FFSAGT in 2006 and third position in the French Championship the following season.

Hexis Racing also fielded a list of prestigious drivers. Among the 50 drivers concerned, we find Frédéric Makowiecki, Ludovic Badey, Julien Jousse, Sébastien Chardonnet, Pedro Lamy, Stéphane Sarrazin, Jonathan Hirschi, Grégoire Demoustier, Stef Dusseldorp, Oivier Panis… At the Baku final, the French team won a final podium thanks to the great combativeness of Kévin Estre.
