The second McLaren driven by Alvaro Parente and Grégoire Demoustier once again took the last step of the podium, failing behind the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 of Reiter Engineering. The stewards of the Donington final have decided to exclude the #38 Mercedes SLS AMG driven by Marc Basseng and Markus Winkelhock from the Championship race. Markus Winkelhock caused a horrific crash when he sent Yelmer Buurman's title-fighting BMW Z4 Vita4One Racing into the tire wall.
