GT1: Hexis AMR snatches the Teams title

The start of the FIA GT1 final will have been a turning point for the fight in the Teams Championship. Lucas Luhr, crowned world champion yesterday with Michael Krumm, was caught in a pile-up forcing the safety car to intervene for almost half an hour. The JRM only had the #22 Nissan GT-R left to compete for the Teams title against the?Aston Martin DB9 n°7 by Alex Müller and Tomas Enge.

The JRM saw the Teams title fast approaching when Alex Müller received a drive-through for overtaking a competitor during the safety car's intervention. But hope changed sides when Richard Westbrook was sanctioned for the same reasons. Meanwhile, Clivio Piccione and Stef Dusseldorp carried the No. 9 DB3 of Hexis AMR in 3rd position to the finish behind the No. 11 Corvette of Francesco Pastorelli-Yelmer Buurman (Exim Bank Team China) and the Lamborghini n °47 from Lauck-Haase (DKR). The sister car driven by Christian Hohenadel and Andrea Piccini finished in 5th position behind the #20 Nissan of Bernoldi-Catsburg (Sumo Power), thus securing Hexis AMR an unexpected title.
