GT1: Team WRT imperturbable at Nogaro

The Championship race seemed to be more uncertain at the start of the event, but Team WRT did not tremble and signed a new double with the victory of Laurens Vanthoor and Stéphane Ortelli ahead of Frank Stippler and Oliver Jarvis. The Monegasque in the No. 32 managed to maintain the advantage until the pit stops where the Briton in the No. 33 took the lead of the race. But Laurens Vanthoor was the fastest on the track and took control of the event until the finish. All-Inkl.com also made a nice group shot, taking advantage of the racing circumstances to raise the Mercedes SLS n°38 of Marcus Winkelhock and Marc Basseng on the last step of the podium followed by the n°37 of Nicky Pastorelli and Thomas Jäger.

Toni Vilander managed to hoist the Ferrari 458 n°3 sur le podium provisoire, mais le pilote AF Corse a été pénalisé d’un drive-through pour départ volé. Le Finlandais n’a pas été le seul à subir le courroux des commissaires puisque Mike Parisy a également vu sa Porsche 911 GT3 R rétrogradée au classement pour les mêmes raisons alors que le pilote du Team China s’était hissé en quatrième position. Filip Salaquarda, le coéquipier de Toni Vilander, parvient finalement à hisser la n°3 en sixième place derrière la voiture sœur n°4 d’Enzo Ide et Francesco Castellacci, bien remontée depuis la dixième position. Le Tchèque a connu une fin de course stressante avec la pression mise par la Lamborghini n°25 de Peter Kox. Elle devance la n°24 de Tomas Enge, qui a fait son possible pour récupérer les places perdes par son coéquipier Albert von Thurn und Taxis. Le week-end d’Hexis Racing s’achève par un double abandon des McLaren MP4-12C with mechanical problem.
