GT1 – Team WRT wants to fight at the front

After winning the first two races of the season on the Nogaro circuit during the Easter Cups, the Belgian Audi Club Team WRT is back in line. For the second appearance of the year in Slovakia for GT1, Stéphane Ortelli intends to make his return to the podium, which has not happened to him for four months.

« This track is interesting, with sequences that represent a challenge like turns 2 and 9 and there are some overtaking opportunities, explains Ortelli. The key is to do all the turns flat out without making any mistakes when there is little grip. It is also important not to turn off the vibrators. Our goal is to finish on the podium in both races. »

Laurens Vanthoor also hopes to fight for the top places after a few difficult races. “ We worked hard on the car during the last race in Slovakia, so we will need to have a good base of settings, adds Vanthoor. It's a fairly complicated circuit with lots of fast turns, hairpins, long curves and a nice straight. Fast turns are always a challenge. You have to attack and it all depends on what you have in your gut, but if it's going to go wrong, it's going to go wrong. For us, the goal is to win or get back on the podium. Since Nogaro, we have never been at the front so I hope we will get back there. »
