GT1 World: Hexis transforms the test at Navarra

After a sensational race from the McLaren n°1 of Stef Dusseldorp and Frédéric Makowiecki who overcame the entire peloton to win the qualifying race in Navarra, the crew on pole confirms by also winning the Championship race. The two drivers were able to manage their lead despite a slight scare during the pit stop where the MP4-12C took a while to restart. If the first row of the grid was completed by the second McLaren of Grégoire Demoustier and Alvaro Parente, the second Hexis Racing crew failed to reach the podium.

The Frenchman had managed to maintain his position throughout his relay, but the two Mercedes SLS from All-Inkl.com took advantage of the refueling window to take the advantage and complete the podium. Marc Basseng and Marcus Winkelhock, the last winners of the 24 Hours of Nürburgring, took the second step of the podium ahead of their teammates Nicky Pastorelli and Thomas Jäger. The two BMW E89 Z4 Vita4Ones of Michael Bartels / Yelmer Buurman and Mathias Lauda / Nikolaus Mayr-Melnhof complete the top six ahead of the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 of Peter Kox and Darryl O'Young who took pole in Saturday's race.
