Heikki Kovalainen joins Team SARD in Super GT

After a season away from the circuits, Heikki Kovalainen will rediscover his taste for competition by competing in the GT500 category of Super GT with Team SARD. The former Caterham driver F1 Team will be entered in a Lexus RC F alongside Kohei Hirate and will thus replace Oliver Jarvis who is leaving to join the ranks of Audi in WEC.

The arrival of Heikki Kovalainen within Team SARD is interesting since the Japanese team has joined forces with Morand Racing to compete in the WEC in the LMP2 category with two Morgan V8s. The presence of the Nordic pilot in Endurance would not be surprising.
