Hexis: McLaren, a long-term choice

Hexis surprised the GT World Championship paddock by winning the Teams title three bridges ahead of JR Motorsports. After celebrating their victory, the French team abandoned the Aston Martin DBRS9 and selects the new McLaren MP4-12C to adapt to the new regulations which will only accept the registration of cars in the GT3 category. Philippe Dumas, the director of the reigning champion team, does not seem to have hesitated long to choose the Woking manufacturer.

“When the points of the new 2012 regulations became clear, we immediately looked for the best car and the best manufacturer that we could work with this season”, comments the Frenchman. “The reason we opted for McLaren is simple: we work well together, it was the only choice for me. Of course, the main goal for this season will be to show strong performances and win the Championship again. However, the final result for the 2012 season is not absolutely crucial for me. I prefer to think about the future with the 2013 season and beyond. We want to build strong relationships with McLaren and remain part of their family for a long time. »
