Hohenadel: “We have our chances”

Once again, the Paul-Ricard circuit did not smile on the Hexis team of Philippe Dumas and Clément Mateu. Exiting the track, repeated penalties that are sometimes very severe? The Nîmes stable has not been varnished. Christian Hohenadel and Andrea Piccini, however, managed as best they could to imitate the damage by finishing 6th on Saturday and 5th the next day. The first named admits leaving the south of France frustrated. But he won't give up.

“It was a complicated weekend, concedes the German Christian Hohenadel. But we really did our best. It was very difficult during the direct battles with our competitors, as our car lacked a little speed. In these cases you have to fight constantly and are forced to do very tricky overtaking, which is not my style. But without that, you cannot survive in a tough championship like this. Without the two penalties on the starting grid, we could have finished the weekend on the podium. But this 5th place still gives us valuable points, and we are still third in the general Drivers classification. There are still three races to go in China and Argentina, and we still have every chance of the championship. »

The Hohenadel-Piccini duo is 27 points behind leaders Michael Krumm and Lucas Luhr. All hopes are therefore still allowed. However, it will be more difficult for their teammates Stef Dusseldorp and Clivio Piccione, who were unable to glean a single point at Ricard, and who occupy 8th place in the championship, 51 points from the lead. On the team side, Hexis AMR lost two places and found itself 4th. But the first four being grouped into 14 points, the fight promises to be close until the end.
